Client Testimonial
Having previously worked with Des Doherty on both a number of his own projects and those of his clients, we were delighted to launch a new comprehensive eCommerce & client portal site for him.
We've implemented and customised a lot of advanced SiteShell CMS features over the years, but we really pulled out all of the stops on this one, with user accounts, order & ad management, voucher issuing, intelligent prompting for previously-entered article topics and much more, all wrapped up in an intuitive, easy-to-use, and mobile-friendly interface.
SEO-friendly content is auto-generated from the product titles & categories and the article topics, and the site is further structured to make the most of any additional text and on-screen information.
This completely custom design automatically adapts to different screen sizes, auto-aligning the navigation, text panels and design features of this website, and keeping important user functions near-to-hand.
Liam Byrne of OnSight is a shining example of not just raw talent but it could be argued a prodigy to his craft and a benchmark as to how development should be conducted.
I am forced to remove my hat and take a bow; Liam is not just talented but gifted and gracious with it.
The eCommerce area of the site has a number of advanced features, including previewing & order-fulfilment downloading of audio and books, automatic voucher fulfilment - including issuing a balance-remaining voucher - and QR codes, and also allows for special offers, bundles and discounts to be applied.
The site has PayPal® integration to achieve both instant downloads and general order fulfilment.
This site also includes a client login area to allow clients to log in to manage their account, pay invoices, and get support.
As a writer and journalist, Des regularly writes articles and musings on a variety of topics, and the site embraces this creativity wholeheartedly, extending the Siteshell "blog" functionality to auto-prompt for focussed keywords with which to group the articles.
The site includes a number of fully-integrated APIs, including a domain checker for prospective clients to check if their preferred domain name is available to book.

*We were also sorry to see Des's innovative old logo disappear (see below), but unfortunately due to the fact that he's now focussing on more than just electronics, it was an inevitable victim of progress as it didn't fully reflect his business anymore.
The logo for Des Doherty Electronics was both a power cord & power button symbol created from a combination of the letters in the business name. The lowercase e created the outer ring of the visual, forming the basis for a D-shaped power cord plug within, while the letter E completed the plug visual.
