April 29th, 2008Ruth Foran Photography goes live

The new website for Ruth Foran Photography is now live!

The site offers the familiar SiteShell ease-of-update, and also contains predictive preloading to allow timely loading of full-size images.

In addition, the images on the site resize themselves to match the size of the screen, a feature which was previously only seen in search-engine limiting Flash websites.

And speaking of search engines, we have also added the image captioning search-engine add-on to the site, allowing Ruth, Martin and Eugene to maximise their search engine results based on the locations in which the photographs were taken.

February 28th, 2008Update for The Irish Photographers' Website

We are currently in the process of evaluating a wide range of new features for The Irish Photographers' Website.

Operated by Alan Murphy, The Irish Photographers' Website was originally designed by OnSight in 2003, and has firmly established itself as one of the leading photographic resources in Ireland.

Providing up-to-the minute news and discussion for both professionals in the photographic industry and members of the public searching for photographic services, the site is about to receive a significant revamp, and we are delighted to be invited to evaluate and experiment with Alan's new and exciting ideas for the expansion of this excellent site.

The update will include a visual site makeover, incorporating the latest "Web 2.0" technologies to provide additional features and an improved visitor experience.

More information on this project will be available soon.

February 25th, 2008IPPA Orientation Day

The next IPPA Orientation Day for New Licentiates will take place on Monday, February 25th, and OnSight will once again be presenting a talk on the various approaches that you can take to avail of the opportunities that a website can offer you.

Our presentation will give you insight into achieving the best return from your investment in your website, giving you invaluable information on the importance of domain name registration, consistent branding, website design and development, website features, promotion (including details of what search engines look for), website maintenance and the importance of regular updates.

We will also cover aspects of marketing via the internet, the dos and don'ts of email-based marketing and newsletters, and offer you information on avoiding and coping with unwanted SPAM, "phishing" attempts and other intrusive behaviour.

Please note that this is not a public event; it is open to new IPPA Licentiate members only

If you are a new IPPA Licentiate, please accept our congratulations on your achievement, and we look forward to meeting you on February 25th at the IPPA Headquarters in Muirfield Drive.

If you are ineligible or unable to make it to the Orientation Day, you are welcome to download our Powerpoint presentation to ensure that you don't miss anything.
